FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
No, you don’t need experience to come kayaking with us. A basic level of fitness is required since we paddle for more than one hour, but we stop frequently, we take photos and we share our knowledge. Beginners will easily manage the 6 km paddle.
Comfortable beach wear or exercise clothing that you run or hike in, quick dry clothing works best. Be prepared for sun exposure and wind chill factor while being splashed.

Flip flops (or ‘plakkies’) or water shoes are recommend.
If you’re kayaking in cold weather, you’ll also need to dress appropriately. The sea temperature of the Atlantic Ocean is colder in summer (9–14°C), so bring something warm and a change of dry clothes to change into afterwards.
Yes, we use two person kayaks so you will either paddle with another guest or with a guide.
To avoid not having a fab time… check the weather forecast, dress appropriately. It’s a water sport so you will get wet.
Remember its easier to cool down than it is to warm up so consider bringing a wind breaker if you get cold easily.
Bring your prescribed allergy medication (asthma pump, allergy tablets, sea sick tablets, insulin etc) along with you.
Bring your water bottle and stay hydrated.
You must be able to swim to go on a tour.
R500pp for a 90 min Kayak Tour will take you along the stunning Atlantic Sea Board coastline. Depending on the conditions we could go passed the Green Point lighthouse to Granger Bay before cruising back.
Dolphins, seals, penguins, Sunfish and occasionally whales frequent our waters and while we may not be lucky enough to encounter all this beautiful wildlife on every tour, we can assure you that your senses will be filled.

Cancellation Policy:
- Operator-Initiated Cancellations: Cape Kayak Tours reserves the right to cancel kayak tours due to circumstances beyond their control, such as unfavorable weather conditions. In such cases:
- Participants will be notified at least one hour before the scheduled tour start time.
- Participants can choose between a full refund or priority booking on the next available tour.
- Customer-Initiated Cancellations: If a customer needs to cancel:
- Cancellations must be made in writing to Cape Kayak Tours.
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled tour will be refunded in full, minus any administration costs incurred.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the tour are non-refundable.
Terms and Conditions:
- Arrival: Participants should arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour’s start time. Being more than 15 minutes late may result in cancellation.
- Indemnity Form: All participants must sign an indemnity form before the tour begins.
- Safety Briefing: A safety briefing and instructions will be provided by the guide before each tour. Participants are required to follow these instructions.
- Minors: Participants under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age for participation is 10 years old.
